At Base, we’ve come to embrace that when it comes to mattresses – firm ones are always preferred. While sleeping on a cloud is often portrayed as the idea of a good night’s sleep, a mattress too soft will present a host of problems, including a stiff and sore lower back, neck and shoulder pains, and struggling to get in and out of bed for older folks. 

Base 1
Perfect for: Children to Teenagers

Base One retains our signature firmness, but at a level engineered to contour around developing bones. It is recommended that children get anywhere from 8-12 hours of sleep per night. Sleep is crucial in children’s mood, attention span and physical development. With a much higher time spent sleeping, and these health considerations in mind — investing in a quality mattress that grows with your child is no question.

In these formative years, sleep is when the body goes into repair mode and mattresses with sufficient support is important to care for young and supple backs. For a child, a bed isn’t just a place to sleep. It’s also a place to jump and play. With the expected level of wear and tear, durability is an important consideration when deciding on a mattress. Base Three is our firmest mattress, designed with the older folks in mind. Base three offers maximum support for spinal alignment and works to combat pain in your back and in arthritic joints. This mattress was designed to prevent common conditions associated with ageing and alleviate those that have already developed. A firm mattress also means getting in and out of bed easily, as the minimal sink allows elderly to sit up right and stabilise themselves before getting out of bed.
